To help you stay organized and keep your sanity intact, here is our ultimate 4-week moving checklist.


4 Weeks Out: Planning and Purging

This is the time to lay the groundwork. Decisions made this week will save you hours of physical labor later.

  • Book Your Movers: The best Auckland moving dates (especially weekends and month-ends) book up fast. Call us to secure your date, discuss your inventory, and get your moving plan in place.

  • The Great Declutter: Do not pay to move items you no longer want. Go room by room and sort items to sell, donate, or throw away.

  • Arrange Insurance and Storage: Check if your Home and Contents policy covers your belongings during transit. If you have a gap between leases or settlements, talk to us about organizing secure, insurance-approved storage.

2 Weeks Out: Packing and Admin

  • Transfer Your Utilities: Call your power, internet, and gas providers to arrange the disconnection at your current address and the connection at your new home. There is nothing worse than spending your first night in a new house in the dark!

1 Week Out: The Final Details

You are in the home stretch. This week is all about finishing the packing and preparing for the physical transition.
